Winners of the IES Älvsjö Scary Story Contest

The scary story contest has ended and our winners have been chosen. We thank all writers for participating their spooky tales!

The winning stories were written by Samuel Malm 7C of House Darwin and Ingrid Alexandersson 4A of House Newton. They will be awarded 30 house points each. Please enjoy their stories below!

 

Two new Swedish Champions at Engelska skolan, Älvsjö

In October, the Swedish School Championships in chess were played in Katrineholm with more than 400 players participating. Engelska Skolan Älvsjö were represented with two players and both ended up becoming Swedish School Champions in chess! Hampus Sörensen won the title for 14 years old students (Grade 8) and Felix Ytterberg won the title for 13 years old students (Grade 7).

Also, we are proud to inform you that Felix and Hampus will represent Sweden in the Nordic Championship in  Finland in February 2018. Congratulations !!

Congratulation to Ms Chowdhury

A warm welcome and congratulation to our new teacher, Rumki Chowdhury, who recently won the 'Honorable Mention' of the 2017 New York Book Festival for her book '' So Complicated''.

Ms Chowdhury will be teaching English at IES Älvsjö this coming academic year.
