Patrik 6B played in Bludenz, Austria three weeks ago. He did very well and placed Third BS-12 and BD-12, in singles and doubles Tennis Europe. Now he is in Croatia and playing in the Champions Bowl world championship 2019. Congratulations Patrik, we are very proud, and cheering for you!
It has been a great start to the 2019-2020 academic year! Our students have returned ready to learn. I think that we have been helped by the last of the summer heat wave.
We will be hosting our parents' evening on Thursday, 5 September. More information can be found on SchoolSoft and has been emailed to Year 4 guardians.
This is a great chance to meet the other guardians, meet the mentors, see the school and hear about the fantastic work our students and staff are doing. We will also hold a presentation on the whole school focus areas for the 2019-2020 academic year.
We hope to see you there!
Congratulations to the winners of our back to school Kick-Off.
Teachers and all Administration Staff are ready and excited to start the school year 2019-2020!
It is almost time for the 2019-2020 school year to begin. Summer is nearly over and soon it will be time to start at IES Älvsjö.
Firstly, I would like to offer a huge congratulations to our outgoing Year 9 students. They have officially graduated and secured places at gymnasium. We wish them the best!
Secondly, I would like to welcome our new Year 4 students on Friday, 16 August at 10. The day will finish at 14 and lunch will be provided.
Next, I would like to welcome all students on Monday, 19 August at 10. The day will finish at 14 and lunch will be provided. Students will start their normal timetables on Tuesday, 20 August.
Our staff are busy preparing the school and lessons for our students. This year, we will emphasise the main tenets of the IES philosophy: high academic expectations, bilingual education and tough love. We will be sharing more information when the students start.
Welcome to IES Älvsjö!
Here are the latest project in Crafts lesson:
Utilizing recycled materials to gain an understanding of global awareness and create collaborative 3D art pieces. Giving the students an opportunity to engage and explore various subject matters within a creative process. These creative activities involve a natural development of thinking, feeling, sensation & intuition.
Creating and communicating by means of different forms of expression. Providing a comfortable place where the students have the opportunity of developing their ability to observe and reflect.
